New chassis doesn't have the desired effect: "I was fighting more"

Ferrari had a slightly better Friday than normal in Barcelona today. Admittedly, Ferrari are still very much in the midfield, but in spite of that Leclerc was satisfied with the balance of the SF1000, but whether Vettel was is a different story.

Vettel got a new chassis this weekend after a small defect was discovered. Ferrari knew that a new chassis wouldn't make much difference. Still, Vettel is satisfied: "At least I have had it easier than in recent weeks. It was a quieter day," Vettel told auto-motor-und-sport.

Still a clear gap

Although Vettel was satisfied he also saw the gap to his teammate widen to around three-tenths of a second during the free practice sessions: "We tried a few things, but not all of them made the car better." According to Vettel, things went better in the morning than in the afternoon session: "I was fighting more in the afternoon. I couldn't tie the sectors together properly."
