Alexander Albon is under heavy pressure early in the 2020 F1 season. The performance of the Thai is disappointing and, compared to his teammate the difference is immense. However, Albon continues to work unabated and hopes for a turnaround this weekend.

Albon continues to fight for his place

"In Formula 1, you actually need a short term memory. All I have to think about right now is this weekend. Luckily we're here for the second time, so then you can wash away your memories and move on quickly," says the driver of Red Bull Racing in front of the camera of Formula.1com.

Albon didn't make it through Q2 at the UK Grand Prix, but why? ''It was because I couldn't make laps in the third free practice. You need that time to understand the wind at Silverstone. It changes all the time and you have to be well prepared for that'', the Thai says.

In a duel with Magnussen

The first weekend at Silverstone only got worse for Albon, who came into contact with Kevin Magnussen. The Dane himself indicated that he thought Albon was punished harder than he should've been. Albon did not understand the motives of the stewards either.

''I see it as a race incident, but it seems that if one of the drivers breaks down, then the other should be punished. If we'd driven on, there wouldn't have been a problem. I did ask the FIA, but they said I was trying to overtake in a weird place? I think that's weird. A catch-up operation is a catch-up operation or is only allowed in fixed places," concludes Albon.
