During the second free practice at the Tempelhof in Berlin, Nyck de Vries set the fastest time. The Dutch driver was able to set an extremely fast time in Berlin, which gives good hope for qualifying and the race. Six races will be held at the old airport for the next nine days and today is the first day the drivers will be allowed to race again.

De Vries eventually scored a 1.06.846, with which he was almost a tenth faster than Antonio Felix da Costa. The drivers drive the first two races on the original circuit in Berlin, but backwards. After that two races will follow on the normal layout. De Vries seems in any case well prepared for the races to come in the German capital.

Behind Da Costa is Maximilian Günther, an acquaintance of de Vries from Formula 2. The other Dutchman, Robin Frijns, did not manage to set a fast time in Berlin yet. The driver of Virgin Racing set the 21st fastest time, 1.1 second from De Vries. At 13:00 UK time the qualifying session starts, in which it becomes really clear if De Vries has the speed.
