It would be a dilemma in 2020 between Red Bull Racing and Mercedes, but in fact it is Mercedes that again dominates and Verstappen that may occasionally stay close to the duo Bottas and Hamilton. Despite three victories in the first three races, Wolff is still far from confident.

Verstappen still a contender

"I'm never comfortable with a head start. We've had three out of maybe 16 to eighteen races in 2020. If we lose once and Verstappen wins, the championship is almost even. We can't take it too lightly," Wolff says to Auto, Motor und Sport.

However, Wolff acknowledges that the team is better than last season. ''The Ferrari engine pushed us to the limit to find more performance and the collaboration between Brackley and Brixworth certainly helped. The balance between aerodynamics and engine power is just very strong'', concludes Wolff.
