According to Auto, Motor und Sport, the Malaysian Grand Prix has a good chance of being on the calendar in 2020. The German outlet reports that the F1 are looking at the Sepang International Circuit.

Two races in Asia

In 2017 there was the last Grand Prix in Malaysia, which disappeared from the calendar in order to focus more on the MotoGP that is held there every year. We are now looking again to see if a race can be held in support of the Vietnam Grand Prix in 2020.

The organization of the Vietnamese Grand Prix is in talks with the Formula 1 to be able to organize the first Grand Prix in the country. This happens after the European season and before the entire circus moves to the Middle East to close the season there.

Probably no China this season

At the moment Vietnam seems to be the only race in South-East Asia with the likely disappearance of the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. It may not be worth the logistical effort to travel to the area for one race, so F1 is looking at the possibility of organizing two races in Asia in short intervals.
