Max Verstappen had a Sunday in Hungary with highs and lows. Before the race he crashed his Red Bull Racing RB16 into the wall. It was built up again just in time for the race so he could drive it to the podium. Jan Lammers looks back on Sunday's race of Verstappen.

Guilt of Verstappen

"Yeah, of course, you have a huge sense of guilt. You're enormously angry. You're angrier with yourself than anyone can be angry with you and certainly with someone like Max Verstappen", says Lammers in the NOS Formula 1 podcast.

Verstappen had to and would make up for it

According to Lammers, Verstappen was keen to make everything right in the race. And he succeeded in the end. After a super fast repair by his mechanics, the Dutchman managed to drive his car from seventh place on the grid to second place at the finish.

"You want to make up for that. So you are at maximum on good behaviour. And what I'm saying is, you're emotionally completely liberated. So you get the maximum out of the car. He was driving very uninhibited at the time to make up for all that", concludes Lammers.
