Actually Chase Carey was going to present a new part of the Formula 1 calendar for the Austrian Grand Prix, but indicated he needed more time. Autosport.com now reports what is planned.

Portimao and Mugello

In the coming days Carey is expected to announce more about the F1 calendar of 2020. For the time being, the Formula 1 calendar consists of eight races and will end on September 6 with the Italian Grand Prix. As already expected, Formula 1 will schedule several more races at the end of this calendar.

First of all, the F1 will also race at Mugello immediately after the Italian Grand Prix. The Italian circuit will then debut in Formula 1 and will appear on the calendar under the name Grand Prix of Tuscany. Two weeks after this race, the circus will go to Russia, where tickets are already being sold and possibly for the first time there will be driven with fans.

No America

After Russia on the 27th follows Portimao, on 4 October, leaving another three months available in 2020. Actually, it is already certain that Bahrain and Abu Dhabi will be the finale of the Formula 1 calendar in November/December. In between, anything can still happen. The GP of China is already fixed according to Helmut Marko and Vietnam still claims a place on the calendar.

Races that are becoming increasingly improbable in the meantime are those in North and South America. The MotoGP race in America has already been cancelled on the same Circuit of the Americas and that is also expected for F1. The problems around the coronavirus are too big and so are Brazil and Mexico. So there is little chance that we will see those races in 2020.
