Can Bottas take a shot at title this time?
Just like last year, Valtteri Bottas starts the season very strongly with a pole position, when he had to acknowledge his superior in teammate Hamilton in the course of 2019 and it didn't become an exciting fight.
The question is whether he can change that this time. With the speed Mercedes is showing, he could be the only driver who can make things difficult for Lewis Hamilton this year. A pole in Austria is a good start, but it has to be said that Bottas has always been faster than Hamilton here and the difference was now very small.
Verstappen on the medium
Max Verstappen starts today as the only driver within the top ten on the medium band. He therefore has a strategy that should give him an advantage, especially in the second half of the race. He will probably ride on the yellow tyre for a very long time and then switch to the soft compound in the closing stages. Will he make his move in the final laps just like last year?
Ferrari vs. McLaren
The two powerhauses of yesteryear have found each other again, but this time they fight for a place in the subtop. McLaren continues the upward trend of 2019, while Ferrari seems to be sinking heavily through the ice. Charles Leclerc was one second slower in qualifying than last year. To shake things up a bit more, Racing Point is also taking part in this fight.
