Charles Leclerc said earlier that Ferrari's car in Austria will be about the same as Australia's and that due to the mandatory closure of the factories there has been much less work on the car. Mattia Binotto now joins them and even announces that the first two races there will be no developments to the car of Ferrari.

"Thanks to the results of the test weeks in Barcelona, we knew that we had to have a different approach to the development of new parts, especially around the aerodynamics of the car," Binotto told Motorsportweek. "The important thing was to first understand why we didn't get the results we expected on the track and how much we would have to adapt the program as a result".

In Hungary updates

To continue with the current vision and approach would only cause more problems according to Binotto. "It would have been totally unproductive to continue in the current direction, knowing that we would never achieve our goals". Binotto says it's a risk to change the whole program, but it's the best option.

"So we decided to start a new program that involved the whole car. We knew from the start that not everything would be ready before the start of the season. We hope to introduce the first updates at the third race in Hungary. We know we're not the fastest yet, but we already knew that for Australia and that hasn't changed," Binotto said.
