Norris prepares cleverly: "Verstappen knows everything about Sainz and Ricciardo"

Lando Norris is at the start of his second season in F1. In his first season alongside Carlos Sainz, the young Briton did certainly not disappoint. In 2021 the McLaren driver will be allowed to try it next to experienced driver Daniel Ricciardo. Norris knows how to prepare himself. Max Verstappen was a teammate of both.

We already know that the grid will look very different in 2021. At McLaren, Norris and Ricciardo will appear at the start. The young Brit will be standing next to an experienced multiple race winner. Norris is not scared yet, as he fought hard in 2019 next to Carlos Sainz, who is also not the least experienced driver on the grid.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Instagram, Lando looks ahead: "It's hard to guess what to expect. Before 2018, for example, people looked at Carlos in a very different way than they do now. He shone and now gets a lot more recognition. From the outside you never know what to expect. By the way, I am curious about Daniel."

"At the start of this season, I know Daniel a little better than I knew Carlos at the time, but there's still so much I don't know about him. I want to find out how he works and what sneaky things he does behind the scenes."

Valuable tips from Max Verstappen

At the start of the 2019 season Norris received valuable advice from the Dutch Max Verstappen. Verstappen joined Sainz in F1 in 2015 at Scuderia Toro Rosso. Norris hopes that this time he can count on his sim racing buddy who also drove alongside Daniel Ricciardo for three years.

"Max gives me a lot of valuable tips, he already knew a lot about Carlos. He also knows a lot about Daniel. It's a big part of the sport, you have to get to know your teammates. I want to have fun in what I do but at the same time I have to deliver good results. Working with your teammate is important, yet he is also your biggest rival."

"It's gonna be hard next to Ricciardo and I'm gonna learn a lot from him. If I want to know what makes him angry I know who to be with for the tips. Verstappen can help me with that", said Norris.
