Max Verstappen and his team spent most of Saturday afternoon and evening leading the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans. This race was held with the race simulator rFactor 2 and due to technical problems of the game the Dutchman dropped out just after midnight.

The Red Bull Racing driver was in the lead when he crashed due to technical problems (presumably related to the server) and then had to stand in pit lane for a long time for repairs.

Verstappen had already invested many hours in the race at the time and that it leads to frustration when things go wrong through no fault of your own was demonstrated by Verstappen's comments on the stream of team mate Lando Norris. "What a fucking joke this is. I'm in the pits, but the car is completely broken. rFactor can fuck off."

Criticism of rFactor doesn't come out of the blue. The platform is praised for its realistic driving behaviour, but has also been known for years for its less stable online environment. Certainly compared to competitor iRacing, which Verstappen also uses a lot.

After his tirade, Verstappen virtually passed the steering wheel on to Atze Kerkhof, but he also got into trouble and crashed. That turned out to be enough for the #20 of Team Redline to end their race.
