Proud teammate of Verstappen: ''Great to race with those guys''

Max Benecke is suddenly in the spotlight these days. Because of the e-Sports team Team Redline he is allowed to race together with Formula 1 stars such as Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. How is the young German experiencing racing against the best?

"It's great to race with those guys. They give it a lot of good feedback about the cars and I was able to learn a lot from them. Especially when it comes to racing on a real circuit. Where the racing line is, where the braking points are and how much speed you need to take into the corner'', says Benecke on the Porsche website.

Benecke himself is 26 years old and has been sim racing since she was a child. He already became world champion iRacing and also won the Porsche Simracing Trophy. ''Simracing is mainly about practice. You have to learn how to setup the car. Practice for a few laps and then adjust a bit. That's really going to take hours of work.''

Practice is still the order of the day. ''It depends a bit on the competition, but for the Esports Supercup I do a lot of laps before we start. Then you drive eight to nine hours in a day to really find the limit of the car and the setup'', Benecke concludes.
