After months of sitting at home, most teams went back to work in their own factory. This also applies to Ferrari, which had to close as one of the first because of the coronavirus in its own country.

''Sports is a passion that is very important for many Italians in their daily lives and the fact that we are now starting all that up again is a nice sign of optimism. It's a step towards normal life, after months that have been very difficult," said Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto in conversation with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Can Ferrari compete for the world title?

Ferrari did not come out best in the winter test and even seemed to be behind Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. That wasn't the start they had hoped for in Italy, after the team was already short of the title in 2019. It remains to be seen whether the interruption has brought new insights.

''We're going to start racing again in Europe under strict safety measures and without fans, which will be different. However, it's very nice for us to be able to do what we love again, so that we can give the fans some fun again in the coming period'', concludes Binotto.
