Formula 1 is undergoing changes. As of next season, a budget ceiling will be set at $145 million. They will reduce that budget cap with 5 million dollars each year until 2023, after which it will remain for two years.

Challenge

According to Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner, this is a tough challenge. And he's mainly talking about controlling the budgets of the teams. "Trying to police the cap and treat all the teams in a uniform manner, despite their different structures, has proved to be challenging", he says in his column on RedBull.com.

Horner says he is satisfied with the new arrangements and that in most cases the teams have found a middle ground. "We now have regulations we are comfortable with but there is still fine tuning required."

Consequences for Red Bull

"The new financial regulations inevitably have an impact on the shape of our business and we are in the process of evaluating the organisational changes required in order to comply with those regulations", concludes Max Verstappen's team boss.
