Domenicali hopes for the return of 'great champion': "Very strong driver"

Nowadays Stefano Domenicali is the boss of Lamborghini but in the past he was in charge of that other famous Italian car brand Ferrari. The Italian hopes for a return of Fernando Alonso in Formula 1, and thinks Sebastian Vettel will have to prove himself again this year

These are just rumors but a possible return of Alonso in Formula 1 will bring many happy faces. Former CEO of Ferrari Stefano Domenicali cannot wait for a return of the Spaniard: "I hope Fernando returns to Formula 1 because he is a great champion. If he actually returns he will show that he is a very strong driver. Hopefully he will join as good a team as possible, because he will get the most out of the car", said the Italian to AS.

Vettel

The man who must leave Ferrari at the end of this year is Sebastian Vettel. Possibly without a world title, the German will leave the Italian ship. Domenicali believes that this year he still has to show why Ferrari gave him a contract at the time. However, what Vettel will do after this year also the former boss of Ferrari doesn't know.

"He is a great driver and in other circumstances he could certainly have won the title. As far as his future is concerned, I honestly don't know what he will do. However, he has another year with Ferrari, which means a very big responsibility and he will have to prove why he won four world championships. It will be very interesting to see how Sebastian behaves".
