There is direct contact between the bosses of Formula 1 and the drivers. That's what Romain Grosjean says in conversation with Sky Sports. The board member of the GPDA (Grand Prix Drivers' Association) states that the twenty drivers of Formula 1 want to help where possible.

"We have got a WhatsApp group and it has been very active, I must say. A lot of discussions on different subjects," says Grosjean. According to the Haas F1 driver, all drivers are trying to contribute to a fast start of the Formula 1 season. "We are trying to be as much as we can involved; trying to help the best we can because to help the teams we need to go racing earlier than later."

Conversation with Liberty Media

There is direct contact between the drivers and Liberty Media. Recently the GPDA together with Chase Carey and Ross Brawn talked about what the coming weeks will look like. "I just couldn't make the call, but I know Alex [Wurz, GPDA chairman] and Sebastian [Vettel, GPDA director] were on it, and then I got the feedback", says the Frenchman.

As it looks now, the 2020 year is going to start in Austria on the Red Bull Ring from 3 to 5 July. That is going to be an enormous logistic job, as a lot of safety measures have to be taken. "Everyone is doing his best. Obviously, it's very difficult to know what the situation is going to be like. Taking a lot of measures and trying to make sure that everything is great. But maybe in July the world will be in a much better place and actually we can ease things up a little bit", Grosjean keeps all options open.
