Daniel Ricciardo does see the benefits of the current corona crisis. Because of the coronavirus the Formula 1 drivers have been sitting at home for months and according to the Australian this could result him to stay in F1 for longer.

''Normally, after Christmas, you go straight to the training sessions to be fully fit for the winter tests in February. If you're going to race then it's hard to keep to a normal training schedule, but now that it's all quiet, we can train and rest for a couple of months. I like that'', says Ricciardo at BBC 5 Live.

Little training

''It's important that we make use of these times, because that would allow me to be active in Formula 1 for a longer period of time. Normally you would be evolved in a lot of flying, while currrently we can enjoy the silence'", says the Renault driver who will drive for the team of McLaren in 2021.

''Fans may think that we normally train again on Monday after the race, but most of the time it's just a period of rest. You have to be fresh for the next race. On Tuesday I'm going to run again and on Wednesday I'm going to do a real practice. Between two races you don't have a lot of time to train'', Ricciardo concludes.
