Jean Todt's third term is at the end of 2021. The president of the FIA will be at the helm for twelve years and thinks it has been enough. Under the current circumstances, however, he would still like to continue.

The successor of Max Mosley clearly states in an interview with Racefans.net that he wants to help out after December 2021 if necessary. ''It's not something I had planned, but neither is the coronavirus. I've done three installments and that has required a lot of time and energy from me'', says Todt about that.

Todt stays for a while

Todt was planning to quit. "We can't say for sure, but normally my mandate ends in December 2021.'' However, COVID-19 ensures that Formula 1 is in an exceptional situation and according to Racefans.net, Todt is open to stay on for a short period of time.

The former boss of Ferrari is happy with the work of the FIA and Formula 1 in this difficult period. ''We have regular conversations with F1 and the teams and it is clear that this pandemic has required a lot of energy from us. The final status of our proposal now lies with the teams and I assume that they approve it'', concludes Todt on the last five-year plan of Formula 1.
