For years the Italian Grand Prix has been held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza and has a permanent place on the calendar in September. In 2020, however, this can be seriously questioned. Will the circuit stick to the original schedule or not?

That is the question that is currently being asked after the organisation in Monza sent a tweet that is rather unclear. In the message the circuit announces that fans can save the next 'new' date for the Italian Grand Prix: 4-6 September.

So, for the time being Monza assumes that their race can continue in four months time. However, it is completely unclear whether Monza is also targeting fans who want to come to the circuit with this tweet. Moreover, September 4 through 6 is not a new date at all, but rather the weekend in which the GP was originally planned.

The message asks for clarification. Certainly in view of the fact that Monza is located in the middle of one of the worst affected areas of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bergamo, which is seen as the epicentre of the outbreak in Italy, is less than 20 miles away.
