Government bans Hungarian GP until 15 August, ticket sales Japan shut down

For the time being, events of more than 500 people may not be organised in Hungary. This could possibly have consequences for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Furthermore, in Japan ticket sales for the GP have come to a standstill, although this does not necessarily indicate a cancellation.

The Hungarian Grand Prix is currently scheduled for 2 August, but that seems to have become an impossible task. It doesn't seem to be very difficult, as it is said that the weekend will be postponed anyway. In a possible Formula 1 calendar that turned up this week, two races are scheduled in Hungary.

Until 15 August, however, the government of the country does not allow events of large scale. This means that two Grands Prix of Hungary will have to be finished after that date. In the agenda that Bild brought out, the two races are still scheduled on August 16th and 23rd. For the time being this seems to go well, although an extension of the measures is not excluded.

What could possibly help is that the government of Hungary will also benefit from the arrival of Formula 1. The director of the Hungaroring recently indicated this: "It is very important for the government of Hungary to organize a GP", said Zsolt Gyulay, who further indicated to be open for two Formula 1 weekends in 2020.

Ticket sales in Japan is at a standstill

The Japanese Grand Prix should take place between 9 and 11 October at the Suzuka circuit. That date seems to remain the same in the new calendar of the royal class of motor racing, but despite this, ticket sales have come to a standstill. This means that fans will not be able to buy a ticket to see Max Verstappen with a Honda engine in the RB16 for the time being.
