Unique in F1 2020: ''Driver market for Formula 1 and Formula 2 drivers''

On the 5th of July we hope to see the first race again in Formula 1 and then it's party time again that same week, because not only will we go for another race the next week, but the game F1 2020 will also be released by Codemasters.

On 14 April, Codemasters surprised the world with an announcement. Since the takeover of Codemasters, the Formula 1 game has always been released halfway through the official season and was brought forward to July last year. Now that the real season was postponed, it was assumed that the game would be left behind as well, but that's not the case.

My Team

F1 2020 will appear in stores on 10 July and then you will be able to experience the Formula 1 season as it was meant to be before the corona crisis. In the game you will drive over the circuit of Zandvoort and Hanoi, but there is also one nice new addition: My Team. Where in the normal career you are active as a driver, in that mode you can also act as a team boss.

''Players have to manage their own performance on the track, but with that mode also the performance of the whole team. This involves maintaining different departments, hiring and training staff and also taking good care of your second driver," says Codemasters boss, Lee Mather, in an interview with Red Bull.

Formula 2 drivers

In the 'My Team' mode, there is also a new element. ''There will be a drivers' market with Formula 1 and Formula 2 drivers. So you have to choose between drivers, but also choose someone who fits your team. If you don't have the facilities for a top team yet, you'd better wait a little longer to appoint a top driver'', Mather concludes.

In addition to 'My Team', the normal career returns to the game, where you can now also opt for shorter seasons and choose the races that will be held in that season. In addition, split-screen also returns, so F1 2020 can be played on the couch with friends again.
