Vettel is going simracing: "Wasn't tempted before, because didn't have the chance"

A large part of the Formula 1 field has been sim racing since it became known that the next few months will not be driven on the actual tracks. Also Sebastian Vettel, who is usually old fashioned, has been persuaded after weeks of sitting at home and has ordered a simulator.

When it comes to sim racing, Sebastian Vettel belongs to the old guard. Like Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen, he has never shown any interest in the virtual world. However, now that he will not be able to sit in a real F1 car in the coming months, the Ferrari driver is apparently curious, because this week he has finally bought the right stuff for a simulator at home.

"Well the truth is, I didn't have a simulator until a couple days ago so I have not been tempted because I didn't have the chance. But I have heard a lot of things about it so I thought I might get one and try, but I need to still set it up properly," the German says to Autosport.com/

At most sporadic participations from Vettel?

Vettel says he knows about the successful debut of teammate Charles Leclerc, but whether we will see him participate fanatically in the various virtual championships, just like the Monegask, is still extremely uncertain. Vettel says he especially wants to enjoy it.

"Generally, I'm not going to foresee a career in sim racing. I think it's more something to try for fun. I grew up with some of the stuff and I've been playing some games, but to be honest since I had kids it's not the first thing on my list to do. I will see how much time there will be."
