The Williams Formula 1 team has warned its drivers George Russell and Nicholas Latifi. The Williams men are urged to behave sensibly during virtual races, after a NASCAR driver went too far during a live broadcast.

The warning comes after NASCAR driver Kyle Larson said the n-word during a live feed. The driver was allowed to blister immediately as he was fired by his team Ganassi.

Nicholas Latifi tells in an interview with La Presse that he also received a message from his team after this incident. She urged the rookie to behave during the virtual races. "After the incident, the team sent us (Russel and Latifi) a message reminding us how to behave during the broadcasts".

Both Russell and Latifie regularly participate in online competitions although the message seems rather superfluous as Latifi is aware: "I belong to a team with sponsors who want to maintain an image so I know I have to be careful", concludes the Canadian.
