Northern Italy was the first region in Europe to be severely affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus. The Ferrari Formula 1 team is close to this source and the consequences of this pandemic are being faced on an almost daily basis. Mattia Binotto has also seen the consquenses, but still calls to remain strong.

"I consider me and my family lucky, because we are doing well", says the team boss of Ferrari in conversation with Sky Sports. "I'm very sorry for those who aren't as lucky as we are. You only hear sirens from the emergency services on the streets of Northern Italy. It feels strange and bad."

According to Binotto, there is only one way out of this crisis right now: "We all have to try to stay strong and stick to the rules. That's all you can do in this situation. The most important thing is that we stay home."

Ferrari is committed to fight COVID-19

At Ferrari they don't sit still. The employees of the Maranello factory are unable to work on the cars these weeks and have instead started producing parts for breathing apparatus.

"If you have to deal with an emergency situation of this magnitude, as a company it is important to use all your possibilities and take action. That's what we do at Ferrari. We make our knowledge available and do what is necessary to help in any way we can".
