Last night a field including six Formula 1 drivers started racing online to raise money in the fight against the coronavirus. Three races were held on the game F1 2019, eventually this was won by Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.

Donation

The race could be followed live via the Twitch channels of the drivers. Together they set the goal of raising a total of $100,000. A goal they unfortunately did not reach. In the end a nice amount came out, a total of more than $70,000.

The most remarkable piece from the multiple races was the overtaking of Alexander Albon at Leclerc on the Red Bull Ring. The Red Bull Racing driver made an overtaking manoeuvre that looked a lot like the action Max Verstappen made last year on Leclerc. Leclerc then immediately said: "Mate, you're doing a Verstappen!"

Sunday another race

The six drivers who came into action yesterday will be back in an online race on Sunday. This time it will be the F1 Virtual Grand Prix of China. Carlos Sainz will then make his virtual debut.
