In the new 'Vodcast' of Sky Sports this time Ross Brawn joined and the top man of Formula 1 had a lot of interesting things to say. A start of the season without an audience is one of the possibilities and also racing in January 2021.

Brawn wants to start as soon as possible

''Travelling will be difficult for a while, but once we're there we'll be protected as a group as well. Our idea is to start in Europe and have a closed event there. All staff will come in in parts and can be tested right away. We'll have a race without fans'', says Brawn at Sky Sports.

''Of course that's not ideal, but it's better than not racing at all. There are millions of people glued to the tube and we want to give them something fun again. We try to start as fast as we can, but if we start we want to go all at once, so we really have to be able to do it''.

Just Triple Headers

According to Brawn, there are still plenty of options to get a full calendar. ''We need a minimum of eight races to meet the FIA criterion and we should be able to do that when we start in October. We are also looking at the possibility of continuing in 2021. It will not be easy. It's going to be a tough season with eighteen to nineteen races in a short time," says Brawn, who suggests shorter weekends.

''It will be 'Triple Headers', one week off and then another 'Triple Header'. We're looking at the possibility of shorter weekends. For example, the weekend in China might only consist of two days and we're looking at that for more events'', concludes Brawn. We'll have to wait and see, because at the moment the growth of the coronavirus is still determining the delusion of the day.
