Ferrari has completely shut down the factory where the Formula 1 team was in Australia, due to the coronavirus. While none of the team has symptoms of the dreaded COVID-19 virus, Ferrari has decided to self-isolate anyone who has travelled to Australia. Some of them are in hotels, at the expense of the car brand.

Self-isolation

Anyone who has been in Melbourne will be quarantined for 14 days to eliminate all risks, the BBC reports. It's unsure when the Formula 1 team will go back to work as the factory will remain closed until March 27 and it is not clear what Ferrari will do afterwards.

Both the production of streetcars and the development of the Formula 1 car are currently completely stopped. Given the seriousness of the situation in Italy where the outbreak is most severe, it is likely that the closure will last longer.

Large donation

Meanwhile, the family behind Fiat and Ferrari, Agnelli, has donated € 10 million for the fight against the virus. This money went to the civil protection department, which can use the money at a national level. They also contribute in the form of vehicles to distribute food and medicine in Italy.
