Title war between Hamilton and Verstappen?

After a couple of potential battles over the last two years, it finally looks likely to happen: Lewis Hamilton facing a strong battle from Max Verstappen for the F1 crown. Hamilton and Verstappen are both mentioned in the discussion about who is the fastest driver at the moment and in 2020 an answer might emerge. 

Mercedes have had the dominant car for the last six years and although Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari came close a couple of times, Hamilton has been able to enter the championship relatively unscathed in recent years. However, with Formula 1 entering the final year of the current regulations, the expectation is that it will be very close at the top of the field. 

The team that seems to benefit the most from this is Red Bull Racing. Together with Honda, they have made great strides over the past year and closed the gap with the competition. Together with Verstappen, they are now seen as the closest challengers to Hamilton and Mercedes. And so in 2020, we are preparing for a titanic battle.

Same rules, more spectacle

Since the technical regulations will, therefore, remain virtually the same in 2020, the gap between the teams are expected to be smaller than they have been in years. Not only the front of the field is getting closer together, but also the teams in midfield seem to be able to connect. The chance of a surprise winner during one of the Grands Prix will therefore only increase.

In addition, the stability of the regulations ensures that the 2020 cars will be the fastest F1 cars in the history of the sport. Because the regulations for 2021 will change drastically, the cars will be slower again. Not to be missed, for the real F1 lover.
