Sergio Sette Camara has left McLaren with immediate effect. The Brazilian was their development driver.

The 21-year-old participated in F2 last season, finishing the season fourth in the championship behind Formula One bound Nicholas Latifi, and champion Nyck De Vries, who made the switch to Formula E team Mercedes EQ.

Brazilian Sette Camara is without a drive in F2 this season, having been with the past two teams champions in Carlin and DAMS, after partnering McLaren driver Lando Norris at Carlin and new Williams driver Latifi at DAMS.

His future looked destined to be in America, after it was confirmed that he would share the #31 Carlin Motorsport car with fellow Brazilian Felipe Nasr in IndyCar this season, as well as being confirmed as GEOX Dragon's reserve and test driver. But a potential drive in the 2019/20 Formula E season looks likely with regular-season driver Nico Muller set to drive in the Norisring DTM round instead of the New York E-Prix, with Sette Camara set to be drafted in to drive due to the fixture clash.
