Daniel Ricciardo is notorious for being one of the most fun characters on the current Formula 1 grid, if not of all time. The Australian has given an insight into his attitude towards his fellow drivers and admits he always tries to be as friendly as possible.

Ricciardo is often seen having fun in and around the paddock and during the 2019 season, he and Lando Norris couldn't quite contain their laughter during several press conferences. Ricciardo's jovial attitude is for all to see in the latest series of Drive to Survive.

In an interview with Esquire Middle East Ricciardo explained that he can take it personally if his gestures and friendly nature is not reciprocated.

“I always try to be as friendly as possible with the people on the grid," Ricciardo told Esquire Middle East.

"But if I smile at someone and I don't get a response back, it makes me pissed off. I certainly take it personally.

"I remember that Raikkonen turned his back on me and I took that very personally.

“I make a mental note of those moments. If I ever feel a bit generous on the job, it will never be in the direction of Kimi."
