Kimi Raikkonen is looking forward to starting the 2020 season and getting back up to high speeds out on the track. The Finn is nearing the end of his career and will relish each race this season in what is likely to be his last year in the sport.

"That is surely the hardest part, being away from home so long because there is much more boredom behind F1 than what appears," Raikkonen told El Pais.

It is expected that this will be the Finn's last season in the sport and many will be sad to see him leave. Over the years he has built up a strong following of fans who adore everything he does.

“Obviously, it makes me happy that there are followers who like me, there are also those who don’t like me, but I just try to do the things that make me happy," Raikkonen said.

“As long as you do things that make you happy as a person that is all that matters. If you are happy that will help you in your work, be it driving a car or any other, it will help you in your daily life.

“If people like it, great; if they don’t like it, well that’s fine too. Each one is as it is. Besides, I never do anything to please anyone. I do what I do thinking about me.”

Raikkonen will be looking forward to starting the season and getting his Formula 1 fix before hanging up his gloves at the end of the year.
