Honda satisfied: "This was an important test for us"

AlphaTauri has not yet shown everything during the winter tests, but it is clear that those present in Barcelona are impressed by the latest car from the Italian team. 

Of course, many people point to the fact that the AT01 from AlphaTauri looks suspiciously similar to the RB15 from Red Bull Racing, but that is not surprising. Both teams work closely together and according to Franz Tost, it would also be crazy if his team were to make everything themselves. That is not efficient at all and doesn't cause an issue with the rule book. 

Honda busy for two teams

The technical director of AlphaTauri, Jody Egginton, was happy with the performance of Pierre Gasly on Thursday. The Frenchman did more than a hundred laps and the team managed to get the necessary data. Daniil Kvyat will close the test day on Friday and we may see the fast laps for the first time.

On Thursday they were mainly busy with various institutions. "AlphaTauri did a race program with different amounts of fuel in the afternoon, but Red Bull changed many settings and so we were able to test the engine for the Australian Grand Prix. That was an important test towards the first race of the year," concludes Toyoharu Tanabe from Honda.
