After what was a very busy day for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing star Max Verstappen, the Dutchman looked back on it positively, saying his team improved this year's car in the area's they wanted to.

Verstappen logged more laps at the Circuit de Catalunya than anyone else, going around the track a whopping 168 times on Wednesday - over 100 laps more than the racing distance - but the Dutchman also spun around on two separate occasions.

Ahead of a potentially title-challenging season, with reports saying Red Bull are closer to the top than they have been in previous years, Verstappen was happy with his car's feel after his first day on track.

"We definitely improved the car in the area's we wanted to," the 22-year-old told present media after Wednesday's running.

"So, now we just have to do a lot of laps, test all the parts out and see where we can improve it further. Hopefully, it's going to be enough."

Knowing Verstappen's extremely competitive nature, that "enough" references to having a car good enough to consistently races. Whether this will be the case, we should be able to get a good idea of in the next five days of testing.
