Pierre Gasly started 2019 at Red Bull but finished it with Toro Rosso, and he'll start 2020 with Alpha Tauri, but the Frenchman is hoping for more progression from the team formerly known as Toro Rosso.

Alpha Tauri unveiled their first car since changing their name in an elaborate show in Austria. The AT01 sports a mix of navy blue and white and will be driven by Gasly and his teammate Daniil Kvyat

Gasly returned to the team after being dropped by Red Bull halfway through last season. He's expecting the team to stay motivated and hopes they'll improve on last season's results.

“Definitely, as the team is pretty much the same as before and everyone is very motivated and focused with a really good dynamic throughout the company and you can feel it in the factory," Gasly said when asked about keeping their momentum.

"Everyone is very excited about the 2020 car and wants to do even better than in 2019.”

However, the Frenchman did admit that it's hard for him to judge their progression of last season given he arrived later in the year.

“It’s a bit hard for me to assess the full evolution, as I joined the team mid-season, but overall it’s true that, between Daniil and I, we regularly picked up points in the second half of the season. I believe the way the team went about developing the car improved a lot, even from 2018 to ’19," he added.
