Renault sign Formula 2 star Guanyu Zhou as F1 test driver for 2020!

Renault have signed Guanyu Zhou as their F1 test driver for 2020, after it was announced Jack Aitken would be leaving the role and the team. Zhou was part of the Renault academy last year and has been retained this season after an impressive debut season in F2.

The Chinese driver will once again race in F2 with the UNI-Virtuosi team after finishing seventh in the standings in 2019, the top ranked rookie. He is expected to be challenging for the title in 2020 and he will combine his title charge with a testing role at Renault.

Zhou said: "Last year I had a taste of being close to the F1 team and as test driver this year, I'll spend even more time on track and learning from debriefs and listening to all the driver feedback.

"It's another step up from being development driver in 2019 where I did a lot of simulator work and some RS17 tests."
