Champions mentality? Verstappen says he can "always be better" in F1

Max Verstappen believes he can always find a way of performing better when out on the rack track, even if he has won the race. The 22-year-old has been tipped to become a future world champion, and surely this is one of the reasons why?

So far, Verstappen has won eight Grands Prix out of 105 involvements. Some of those wins included challenging conditions, including his win in Germany in 2019. Even after that victory, the Dutchman says he can always room to improve.

"Even a victory can always be a little better. Some people celebrate victories as if everything went perfectly. But even then I still worry. That has always been the case with me. My father played a major role in that. I said 'I won'. He replied 'Yes, but here and there you made mistakes'," Verstappen told Auto Zeitung.

Jos was not easily satisfied and tried to drive his son to the limit. "He always treated me critically, analyzed every error. I didn't agree with that at the time, but today I can understand all of this. This training has actually been very useful for me, quite funny," said Verstappen.
