Romain Grosjean has one small request for future track designs

A Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is on the cards in the future. Romain Grosjean, who is the Chairman of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, says driver feedback must happen when circuits are being designed.

A former Formula 1 driver, Alexander Wurz is the man with the pressure of designing the new track in Saudi Arabia for 2023. So far, Grosjean is impressed with the work he has carried out. 

"The job that Alex designed is great. He knows what we want and don't want," Grosjean said in a conversation with Motorsport.com.

"We are the ones who race on the course, the ones who know what works and what doesn't work with regard to overtaking and the spectacle. If you look at golf, you see that as soon as a new course is laid you immediately ask the opinion of a golfer. Something like this hasn't happened in F1," he added and confirmed he is therefore happy with the choice of Wurz as designer. 

The Haas driver is also happy that Wurz comes to the drivers if he is not sure himself.

"He is lucky to have such a close relationship with us, he comes to us with questions. For example, we drove in the simulator and there was a corner he was not yet sure about. He said he didn't really know what to do with that turn. It's good to talk about it and share our visions. The project is also huge and wonderful. I really hope that a Grand Prix is ​​coming here."
