Formula 1 have announced changes to the schedule for the Japanese Grand Prix. FP1 and FP2 are both subject to time changes as well as the race itself.

What happened in 2019?

Valtteri Bottas won the Japanese Grand Prix of 2019 after qualifying third, beating Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton to top spot on the podium. The result eliminated any competition for Mercedes and ensured they would win the Drivers' and Constructors' Championship for the sixth successive season.

The battle for the Drivers' Championship would go on to the US Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton would wrap up a sixth Drivers' Championship, moving him within one of Michael Schumacher.

What are the schedule changes?

FP1 and FP2 will now start an hour later than previous years, FP1 starting at 11 AM local time and 2 AM UK time whilst FP2 will start at 3PM local time on October 9th. The race on the other hand will start one hour earlier starting at 13:10 on the 11th October which is 4:10 for those in the UK.
