Local government delays vote on Miami Grand Prix approval again

The local government in the Miami-Dade county has again delayed its vote to approve or deny a Miami Grand Prix, with the vote having been moved to February after a meeting this Wednesday.

F1 owners Liberty Media have been very keen to add a second Grand Prix in the company's native United States as they seek to tap into the American market more. 

Miami has been the main target for Liberty but there have been a lot of problems with the local government, who do not seem keen on having the F1 circus travelling to their city.

Mayor Carlos Gimenez already stressed a purpose-built track will not be built in Miami around NASCAR track Homestead and that if F1 wants a race in his city, it would have to be around the Miami Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium.

The new vote on the approval of the Miami Grand Prix will be held on February 4th.
