Nico Hulkenberg has said that not all his decisions in his career were perfect but feels his move to Sauber from Force India at the end of 2012 was a bad choice looking back.

The German moved after just one season with Force India, in just his second season in the sport.

He raced alongside Esteban Gutierrez at Sauber, enduring a tough start before finding improved results following the summer break.

"Not all the moves were right or perfect, that's the difficult thing in Formula 1," Hulkenberg was quoted by GP Today.

"You take a decision six or eight months before you get there and it's difficult to predict where things turn out.

"It's easy to say, but I think that change to Sauber in 2013, even though it was a much better half of the season, I think that move was probably not the best for my career."

The 32-year-old is without a seat in 2020 after being replaced at Renault by Esteban Ocon.
