Valentino Rossi on F1 experience: "You get an amazing sensation of speed"

F1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton and Moto GP legend, Valentino Rossi, both swapped equipment and had a go on each other's machines. Rossi enjoyed his time in the Mercedes F1 car in Valencia and noticed that a lot had changed in F1 since he tested a 2008 Ferrari on GP2 tyres in Barcelona in 2010.

"I have tried an F1 car before, but much has changed since then," said Rossi to Autosport."Sincerely, I was impressed with the car and its handling, as well as with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport team, who were great to work with.

"They were very welcoming and made it easy for me to get familiar with the car. At first, you get an amazing sensation of speed," he said. 

"The G-forces were not so bad, but it takes some getting used to. Once I got into the rhythm I could really push. It was a great pleasure.

"I sincerely hope we will get to have many more experiences like this in the future."

It was a successful day hosted by Monster Energy and Lewis Hamilton also got the opportunity to have a go on Rossi's motorbike.
