2019 season didn't pan out how Ferrari would have like, but Mattia Binotto has insisted the team are still developing and learning as they look to get up to the standard of Mercedes.

Ferrari finished second in the Constructors' Championship in 2019 only behind Mercedes, but their drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc were fourth and fifth in the Drivers' Championship. Their season was plagued by team issues and reliability but a home victory at Monza was a boost for the Scuderia in an otherwise tame season.

Despite the touch season, the team principal, Mattia Binotto insisted that the team are still young and have a lot to learn.

“I think each single mistake, if you tackle it from a lesson learned point of view, you can improve yourself,” Binotto told Autosport.

“I think there is nothing that has to be changed in terms of big changes, severely.

“I think it’s a matter of experience.

“We always said we are a young team, especially in the roles, we are on a very steep learning curve.

“So it’s really a matter of making sure that whatever happens this season has been addressed.”
