Having won the Drivers' Championship in 2008 it took until 2014 to win his next but since then his only blemish the 2016 season when he pushed Nico Rosberg all the way.

Being the great champion that he is the links to Ferrari will always exist but at the moment it looks as if the dynasty that he has built with Mercedes is set to continue. Jacques Villeneuve believes the cherry on top of his incredible career could be a success with Ferrari.

"Lewis pursues all the records of Michael Schumacher and I think a place at Ferrari can be the crowning glory of his work," Villeneuve told Sky Italia.

"With a seventh title, he not only catches up with Schumacher but if he can also control Ferrari afterwards, he is completely a legend."
