Sabine Kehm, Michael Schumacher's manager, says that Michael's son Mick is capable of being a success in F1 as he prepares for the final round of his debut F2 season. The 20-year old is part of the Ferrari young driver academy and is currently sitting 12th in the F2 standings following his European F3 victory last season.

Schumacher has had a frustratingly stop-start season in F2, the main feeder series for F1, including a win in Hungary, but too many retirements and incidents for his liking.

Despite a tough first season, the German is tipped to make his F1 debut in 2021, providing he competes for the F2 title next season, and Kehm believes that he will be a success in the top tier of single seaters.

She told Die Welt newspaper: “I am sure that Mick will end up in Formula 1 sooner or later. Although I hope it’s the former! I am convinced that he will do very well there. He's already done a great job.

"I can only conclude that Mick will be able to realise his dream of becoming a world champion.

"Mick has had a very unlucky season. I sympathise with him. He has struggled with an incredible amount of bad luck. And of course, he also still has a lot to learn.

"But Mick is very good at analysing things, learning the right lessons and then making adjustments."
