At the young age of 22, Max Verstappen has nearly raced in 100 Grand Prix races which is something he didn't think would happen so quickly. The Red Bull driver has raced in 98 Grand Prix's and jokes that he will retire after his 100th race!

“What will I do if I reach the 100? Retire!” the Dutchman joked when asked by Yahoo Sport“As a child, I always thought that 100 races was a lot in Formula 1. My career started very early, of course, and we still want to achieve more. Maybe something like 300 races, 400: who knows?"

On the current grid, Kimi Raikkonen has driven in the most races with 311 to his name. Rubens Barrichello has the most race starts with 326. Verstappen could well be the one to break the record.

“I'm just enjoying it right now," Verstappen said. "All in all, the place we are is not yet the end of the world: We are still in the top six and it is not like we are miles behind the rest. We are there, but not enough to really do something.

"The opportunity to grab stages is there, so it's not like I'm not enjoying it. Instead of being negative, it's about pushing the team towards improvement. That you find things that lead to improvement."

Verstappen has a long career ahead of him and he will hope to start winning titles before too long.
