When looking back on his 2019 season in F1, Williams rookie George Russell has revealed he "wouldn't change a thing" despite his team's struggles, with the 21-year-old being the only driver on the grid who has yet to score a point this season.

Williams' struggles started in pre-season in Spain, when they weren't ready to start testing on the first of eight days. When the first Grand Prix in Australia came around, it became apparent just how far off the pace the team was, with Robert Kubica and Russell qualifying as the slowest two drivers by quite some margin.

Still, when reflecting on his first year in F1 after clinching the title in 2018 in F2, Russell explained why this year of struggles and adversity has been good for him.

"I think it [2019] has met my pre-season expectations, just the whole Formula 1 rollercoaster itself," the young Brit said at Thursday's press conference at Suzuka.

"I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect but I’m really happy with how the season has gone generally.

"From the good moments personally to the tougher times I wouldn’t change anything at all because especially from the tougher times I’ve learned a huge amount and generally being in the position I have been, at the back of the grid, it’s given me an opportunity to just explore a bit more and go under the radar and hopefully that will help me out in years to come when we should be fighting."

Despite beating Kubica in every qualifying round this season, Russell remains the only driver not to score any points this season. Kubica got P10 in Germany after the two Alfa Romeo's got disqualified post-race.
