Ferrari development driver Mick Schumacher has said that his plans for 2020 are “going to be decided in weeks to come”, not expecting an appearance on the Formula 1 grid but to continue racing in Formula 2.

The son of legend Michael Schumacher joined the Ferrari programme at the beginning of this year and has tested for them in both the SF90 and Alfa Romeo cars.

The German endured a tricky start to his F2 career with Prema Racing, struggling to perform but has been more consistent the past few races, taking his first win in Hungary and expects to continue for another season next year.

“It’s probably going to be decided in the weeks to come,” Schumacher told Sky Deutschland at Sochi of his future plans.

“Nothing has been discussed yet to the point of saying for sure what will happen next year.”

The 20-year old will not be the only Schumacher racing at sochi this weekend though, as his cousin David, son of Ralf Schumacher will replace injured F3 driver Alex Peroni.

“I wish him good luck, it will be very exciting,” Mick added.

Could we see both Mick and David battling on track against each other similar to Michael and Ralf years ago?
