Honda: "Qualifying is the priority this weekend"

Last time out in Spa Honda used their latest spec 4 engine, but the Japanese engine manufacturer was unable able to compete with Ferrari and Mercedes. They will be hoping that they can perform better at Singapore this weekend and that they can get back on the podium.

After an engine upgrade, there are usually a few teething issues and Honda will hope that these have settled and that they can really get their engine to perform this weekend.

"After Spa and Monza we now arrive in Singapore, where we get a completely different circuit. With all the curves and slow sectors on this circuit, it is mainly for us to have the 'driveability' of the car in order, so that the drivers from the curves can immediately get on the gas," Toyoharu Tanabe said.

''Catching up is very difficult on this circuit, so qualifying is the other priority this weekend. We want to ensure that the drivers can start as high as possible. Both teams have performed well here in the past, so I hope that with a Honda engine those results can be continued."

Honda have had an impressive season so far and they will hope to continue impressing all the way to the end of the year.
