Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has warned fans to not wrtie Sebastian Vettel off after his latest mistake at the weekend in Monza.

Vettel was sitting nicely in fourth-place, where he started the race at Monza, but was soon sent spinning and as he re-entered the circuit, he collided with Racing Point driver Lance Stroll.

This then left his Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc on his own to fend off the attack of the two Mercedes drivers of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, and he did that ever so well, winning his second successive race.

Despite Vettel being Mercedes' long-time rival now, Wolff has insisted we shouldn't write off the four-time world champion and believes he has the ability to rekindle some of his old form.

"I would just say don't write him off," Wolff said on Vettel to BBC Sport. "Because he's a four-time world champion and the difference between the great ones and the good ones is that the great ones are able to get back up again.

"And I have no doubt that he can do that. He had a spell of bad races and now it will be about the ability to get himself back where he deserves to be and today (Sunday) for sure is a bad day for him."
