Italian GP Driver ratings: Top marks for Leclerc, another failure for Vettel...

Yet another Grand Prix has been and gone, so it's time for our driver ratings! How would you rate the drivers from Sunday's race? Comment below!

Charles Leclerc - 9/10

As close to perfect from Leclerc, who sent the crowd insane as he became Ferrari's first winner at an Italian Grand Prix since Fernando Alonso. Leclerc defended superbly from Hamilton and Bottas, using his Ferrari's superior straight line speed to great effect. The only reason he hasn't got a 10/10 is that one mistake over the turn one runoff that gave Hamilton a sniff.

Valtteri Bottas - 7/10

Bottas had an opportunity to get into P2 from the start, but ran deep into turn one, allowing Hamilton to keep the position. Pitting later that Leclerc and Hamilton, it looked like his strategy would pay off with a win before a mistake at Ascari gave him no chance. A solid effort to finish second, but it could have been so much more.

Lewis Hamilton - 6/10

A rather uncharacteristic mistake from Hamilton cost him the chance to claim a victory and it also lost him P2. Pitting for fresh tyres and setting the fastest lap limited the dent Bottas was able to make into his championship lead to just two points, so it wasn't a great day for Hamilton, but not a disastrous one either.

Daniel Ricciardo - 9/10

Wow, Renault showed their capability here! Qualifying fifth and finishing fourth, Ricciardo had a quiet but excellent race. He fell behind teammate Hulkenberg in the pit stop phase but managed to get past again to score his best finish since moving to the French team.

Nico Hulkenberg - 7/10

At one point in the race he may have fancied himself for a maiden appearance on the podium as he ran inside the top three during the pit window. Coming in for a tyre change under the virtual safety car, he managed to get ahead of Ricciardo, but was soon passed as he couldn't match the Aussie's pace in the second stint.

Alex Albon - 6/10

Much like the last race in Belgium, it was a race of two halves for Albon, who struggled early on and was even given a penalty for an illegal overtake on Kevin Magnussen. However, in the second half of the race he showed what he was all about, as he worked his way back up the order for another solid haul of points.

Sergio Perez - 8/10

The Mexican has bounced back terrifically after the summer break, ending his eight race duck with P6 in Belgium and P7 in Italy. Coming from the back of the grid, Perez drove immensely to pick up six points. Perez has always been a talented driver and he is showing once again what he is capable of.

Max Verstappen - 7/10

Coming from the back of the grid, Verstappen had a huge task ahead of him to get a good points score on the board, and he may have been hoping for more than eighth. He was unable to get past Perez in the dying laps and will maybe leave Monza a bit disappointed.

Antonio Giovinazzi - 8/10

He will be so happy and relieved to score some more points at long last, and to do it at his home race will make it extra special. Giovinazzi has performed better in recent weeks, but key mistakes have cost him. This week, he was able to put it all together and finally score some points, taking his tally to three for the season.

Lando Norris - 8/10

To score a point from P16 is not an easy task, but it's exactly what Norris did. After missing out in the cruellest way last week and suffering engine penalties this week, Norris bounced back and showed why there is so much hype around this 19-year old star in the making.

Pierre Gasly - 7/10

Gasly has settled in well back at Toro Rosso after being dropped by Red Bull, and put in a second good showing in as many races for the Italian team. Also suffering engine penalties, the Frenchman went forwards during the race and was perhaps unlucky not to score points.

Lance Stroll - 6/10

A difficult one to score for Stroll, as his race was ruined through no fault of his own, as Sebastian Vettel pulled out on him, but that's no excuse for Stroll to do the exact same to Gasly just moments later. The Canadian deserved his penalty, but if it wasn't for Vettel, he may have finished strongly inside the top ten.

Sebastian Vettel - 2/10

Oh dear. This was not a good race for Vettel, not at all. Spinning on his own at Ascari and then pulling out dangerously on Stroll, Vettel deserved his 10-second stop-go penalty, and he was never going to recover after that. I'm sure this result was made even more difficult by watching teammate Leclerc top the podium, something Vettel has never done for Ferrari in Italy.

George Russell - 8/10

In a still struggling Williams, P14 is a pretty good result for Russell! He lost out to teammate Kubica at the start, but managed to repass the Pole and put in a solid drive to equal his second best finish in F1.

Kimi Raikkonen - 5/10

The problems started in qualifying for Raikkonen, with a crash at the end of Q2 forcing him into a pitlane start. He then received a penalty for starting the race with incorrect tyres, which sent him even further back, and there was no recovery from that.

Romain Grosjean - 3/10

Haas are in a really bad place right now, and Grosjean has just one points finish in eight races. A self caused spin had him come in for a new front wing, and he never came back, trundling around at the back for the entire race.

Robert Kubica - 5/10

Again, there's not much he can do in this Williams, but being comfortably beaten by his teammate Russell having been ahead off the start will not please the Pole, who will be desperate for another season at the team to show what he can do if they provide him with a competitive car.

Kevin Magnussen - 3/10

Magnussen must be getting frustrated by now surely, as a hydraulic issue forced him to retire from the race early. Given Haas' pace, he probably wouldn't have scored points anyway.

Daniil Kvyat - 5/10

I feel for Kvyat, he was running pretty well inside the top ten and had just made his pit stop when an oil lead forced him to retire from a strong position. Since Albon's promotion, Kvyat has been in good form and hopefully for him that can continue.

Carlos Sainz - 6/10

Again, you've got to sympathise with Sainz. He was running a very good P6 at a track where Renault were quicker, but a second mechanical problem in two races robbed him of some points, as a wheel was not correctly attached at his pit stop.
